Faculty of Social Sciences - Nottingham University Business School
Assistant and Associate Professors
Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) offered both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes right from the beginning when the Malaysia campus of the University of Nottingham (UNMC) was established 10 years ago in Kuala Lumpur. Five years ago we moved to a new purpose-built green campus in Semenyih, Selangor. We also have a Kuala Lumpur Teaching Centre at Menara Chulan in the Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur.
NUBS has grown rapidly in the past decade by offering undergraduate programmes and postgraduate programmes including our very successful flagship MBA programme. We have just gained accreditation from EQUIS for all our programmes. In addition, the MBA programme is accredited by AMBA. Currently there are about 35 academic staff within the School. We also have a doctoral programme which we plan to expand in the next few years.
For our next stage of growth, we are planning to intensify our research activities in cooperation with the UK and China campuses of the University of Nottingham. An active research culture is fostered in NUBS in line with UNMC’s objective of being one of the leading research universities in this region.
As a result of the expansion plan in research and postgraduate research programmes, applications are invited from research-active scholars to fill vacancies at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the following two subject areas:
- Finance (Fixed Income Securities; Derivatives; Risk Management)
- Marketing
Duties will include:
- Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Successful candidates are expected to develop a successful research agenda in their respective areas.
- Academic related administrative duties as and when required.
Requirements:-
The applicant will have completed a doctoral degree from a well-recognized university, in the relevant subject area, and have had proven teaching and research experience. An established record of publications and/or industrial experience would be an advantage. However, we are also interested in recruiting candidates who have recently completed their doctoral degrees and are keen to pursue a research oriented academic career.
Interested applicants should submit a covering letter, curriculum vitae, and current and expected salaries by email to the Acting Director of NUBS at Subramaniam.Pillay@nottingham.edu.my preferably before 15 July 2010.
