The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus welcomed its first students in September 2000. This development is a fundamental part of Nottingham's vision to become a truly global university for the 21st century and beyond. It is the first ever branch campus of a UK University abroad, earning the University the distinction of the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the field of international achievement, the first award of its kind to an academic institution.

The Malaysia Campus is a full and integral part of The University of Nottingham, UK and offers students the Nottingham experience in a Asean setting. It is a global institution serving an international community of students and yet is firmly rooted in all that is distinctive about UK education - innovative teaching and assessment methods, which encourage independent, creative thinking. Quality standards are also among the best in the world.

At the Malaysia Campus, foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have been successfully implemented since its inception in 2000, and continue to be developed to reflect the research and scholarship of The University of Nottingham. Currently, the Malaysia Campus offers programmes in Applied Psychology, Biotechnology, Business and Management, Computer Science and Information Technology, Education, Engineering, Law and Pharmacy.

Apart from taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, there are a full range of projects available for research-based postgraduate studies leading either to MPhil or PhD. More than 20 research programmes are currently being carried out at the Malaysia Campus

Programmes at the Malaysia Campus are identical to those offered at Nottingham, after which degree certificates from The University of Nottingham are awarded, irrespective of whether the course was undertaken at Nottingham or Malaysia.

Our degrees are accredited by international professional bodies such as the Association of MBAs and the UK Engineering Council which means that our programmes are tested for quality. From an employer's perspective, it is a guarantee of top talents.

Graduates not only have a prestigious degree but also professional and practical skills they can apply in their careers. They will have the benefit of international exposure, combined with regional and local market knowledge and experience.

Nottingham's award winning research and strong teaching reputation is followed through in Malaysia. The majority of the senior academic staff are appointed from The University of Nottingham, UK. High calibre academic staff are also recruited from Malaysia and internationally. Research features highly as one of the pre-requisites for academic staff, ensuring that students are exposed to both aspects of the theoretical and practical. The University's research and curricular ventures, links with universities and collaborations with local and global organisations, create an exciting intellectual and entrepreneurial environment.

The student profile reflects Nottingham's world-class status. On the University's campuses, you will find people from many nationalities, cultures and educational backgrounds.
