MSc in Crop Biotechnology

Course content and structure

The MSc in Crop Biotechnology course can be completed either one year full-time or two years part-time and is comprised of taught modules and a research project. In a full-time course, students take 60 credits of modules each semester and then undertake a laboratory or field-based research project in the third semester.

Considering the biological nature of most project work and the time required to generate data, students commence project-related activities early in the first semester. This research  continues throughout the second semester to provide appropriately established plant and crop systems for the third semester. The projects are focused to meet individual student interests, personal development and career plans.

We also offer a Postgraduate Diploma in Crop Biotechnology that is a one-year course in which students study 120 credits of taught modules. The Postgraduate Certificate in Crop Biotechnology is a one-year course in which students study 60 credits of taught modules.
