Nottingham University Business School Malaysia's Assistant Professor of Organisational Management, Vanitha Ponnusamy, presented to the Director-General of the Malaysian Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DNWP) on the people's perception of the effectiveness of electric fences in mitigating human-elephant conflicts, on 29 May 2015.

Vanitha's presentation was part of a collaboration between the Management & Ecology of Malaysian Elephants (MEME) and the DNWP to arrive at adaptive management strategies to mitigate human-elephant conflicts in Malaysia. Other organizations presenting to the DNWP included the Copenhagen Zoo and Panthera.
