ESU Public Speaking Competition 2017

In collaboration with MIDP and English Speaking Union Malaysia, the University of Nottingham Malaysia is are beyond excited to be part of this year's ESU Public Speaking Competition. 

This competition is open to all Malaysians aged 16 to 20 where participants are required to deliver a prepared speech on the theme To Define is to Limit as well as an impromptu speech at the preliminary round before qualifying to speak on the national theme Peace is Not an Absence of War at the finals, which will be held on 15 April 2017. 

Participants will be judged on the: 

  1. content
  2. expression
  3. delivery

Each participant is required to pay a fee of RM100.00 for a one-day Public Speaking Workshop (including refreshments) which will be held at these locations from 09:30 to 17:00:

Level 2, Chulan Tower, 3 Jalan Conlay, KL 
KDU University College
Penang 
Swinburne University of Technology
Kuching, Sarawak 
 26 March 2017, Sunday  1 April 2017, Saturday 1 April 2017, Saturday 

All workshop participants will receive a certificate of participation, and finalists will receive a certificate of merit.

The national champion will win an all-expense trip to London to take part in the International Public Speaking Competition held from 8th to 12th May 2017.
