Current Research

My main research interests lie on employing knowledge based techniques in conjunction with Intelligent Decision Support and Artificial Intelligence methods for scheduling problems. I am interested in multi-disciplinary research into models, the development of a unifying framework of Information Granulation (Domain Transformation Approach (DTA) - methodology of information abstraction, granular algorithms and theoretical framework of Granular Computing )and algorithms for a variety of real world scheduling problems. This includes comparisons among different algorithms and search space analysis, complexity issues in scheduling, and case studies. The outcome may be adaptive algorithms which can learn from problem solving, either during the process or after and collected in a form for later use, on a range of problems.

Other Area of Interest: Optimization, Computer Science Education, Software Engineering, Emotions, Computer Network and Equality & Diversity.

Past Research

Previous research based on Information System Project Selection. It is a research on Project Management. Project Selection is the process of evaluating individual projects, to choose the right project based on an analysis so that the objectives of a company will be achieved. It involves the tangible and intangible benefits derived from projects, in order to determine the optimum project among all the alternatives. In this study, we developed an effective and efficient decision aid in prioritizing the Information system (IS) projects named ITISPS: An Integrated Tool for IS Project Selection. The approach is based on the traditionally, quantitative techniques concerns a project economically and also incorporating qualitative information for IS project selection. Economic analysis, scoring model and analytic hierarchy process are the three choice of technique adopted in this TISPS. The feasibility of this approach is tested using project selection data from few companies located in MTDC-UPM and Cyberjaya. The system can guide a management science naive decision maker in formulating a decision model for IS project selection and to work towards new organizational and technical arrangements.
