Global interconnectedness, comparative education measures and international standardisation have increased the sense of urgency in educational institutions to meet the high aspirations demanded by government, parents, students and other stakeholders. Education leaders and teachers are under sustained pressure to improve education quality, equity and achievement. This has led to a call for leadership in education that is able to bring significant improvement in learning, narrowing of achievement gap and be measured against globally recognised standards. This conference is focused on exploring issues linked to leadership for learning in the context of changing demands and needs. The goal is to deliberate and delineate how leadership across levels can proactively meet changing demands and needs by redesigning education policies and practices.
