The aim of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC) is to provide innovative and socially-relevant courses and produce critical and creative graduates who would be able to locate themselves in various sectors both locally and internationally. These would include the extremely popular local and international media industries, and the language and education sectors. The taught courses currently being offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are the BA in International Communications, with its unique focus on language and the international media, and the MA in Cultural Studies which provides insights into the roles played by cultures and cultural action in contemporary societies.
