Taking a BSc course in Psychology offers exciting, stimulating and rewarding career opportunities as a practitioner in counselling, clinical, educational, forensic, sports or occupational psychology. Alternatively, a very attractive path is to pursue a career in research or in teaching. The University of Nottingham School of Psychology provides quality teaching, space and facilities, and attained the highest possible score in the most recent assessment in teaching quality.

The University’s quality was recognized by the Times Higher Education Supplement, who awarded us the prestigious “Higher Education Institution of the Year 2006-2007”, an honour that was achieved in recognition of the excellence of our international programme hosted by our campuses in Malaysia and China. Teaching is research-led, meaning that internationally recognised scientists present the lectures, tutorials, practical classes and seminars. Consequently, you will learn of the latest findings in psychology by the people who made them.

As the course progresses, you will learn more about the process of discovery through practical classes and by the end of the course you will actively participate in this process when working on your final-year individual research project. Our course is carefully designed to provide a broad, thorough, challenging and, above all, stimulating grounding in the subject and its methods, serving as a springboard to success in a career in psychology or in other areas. During the first two years of the course you will master the core aspects of the subject in breadth, and in the final year you will be able to choose a selection of specialized topics to study in depth, according to your interest and career plans.
