Brain Gain: Charting the impact & future of Transnational Higher Education
More students globally are choosing to study international higher education without having to travel to the country awarding the qualification to study the entire programme. This is facilitated by higher education institutions and the programmes they deliver through the crossing of international borders to reach students. This transnational education trend is certainly not new, but it has accelerated over the years to the extent it has become a significant component of higher education systems in certain developing countries.
This upcoming OBHE Global Forum in November 2016 will be the platform for academics, policymakers, practitioners, researchers, employers and current students and alumni to debate and speak about the impact of transnational education (TNE). A jointly organised conference event between OBHE, MOHE Malaysia, Nottingham Malaysia, UTM and Taylors’s university, the global forum will be held in Kuala Lumpur, a notable central hub for cross-border initiatives and transnational programmes.
Conference participants will learn about what’s work and what’s not, and the practical impacts and implications on the secret to TNE success, according to the following themes:
- Impact of TNE
- TNE Operations
- TNE Quality Assurance
- Future of TNE
Keynote speaker
These debates will be further highlighted by the presence of Dato’ Seri Haji Idris Jusoh, Minister of Higher Education in Malaysia who will be the conference keynote speaker.
