Nottingham students organise national youth leadership conference featuring prominent speakers

Students at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus are organising the Aspiring Youth Leadership Conference 2015 (AYLC), an event featuring key speakers, namely Datuk Vinod Sekhar, President and Group CEO of Petra Group, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, Eric Feng, public speaking coach and author, on 22 March 2015.

Speakers at the conference are heads of leading businesses such as Luca Barberis, Managing Director of Zalora Malaysia, Ken Chee, Founder and CEO of 8 Investment, Kenneth Yee, General Manager of Incitement, Michael Teoh, Co-Author of Potential Matrix and National Youth Icon, Mallory Loone, Director of Thriving Talents Sdn Bhd and womanentrepreneur, Johnson Khoo, startup enthusiast and Austin Wong, youth entrepreneur.

 

“The keyword is success, and the aims are connection, aspiration and positive influence and this is what we would like to offer to students from all across the nation at this conference,” said Khoo Swee Kiem, the AYLC’15 Coordinator who is an undergraduate from the business school at UNMC.

 

“There is definitely a secret formula to becoming successful, and we will unravel the common patterns of high achievers, cracking the secret and applying them within our own context, ” Teh Yong Lin, advisor of AYLC’15, and a final year psychology student at UNMC explains.

This maiden AYLC is the brainchild of Swee Kim, following the success of project FIBES (Finance,Investment, Business, Entrepreneurship, Society) which ran a series of talks in 2013 also showcasing successful professionals from various sectors.

 

ACYL 2015 is targeted at university students and youths between the ages of 16 to 25. The conference is free-of-charge and is organised by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Youth, a student-led society in UNMC, in conjunction with the University's 15th anniversary and UNMC Careers Fair 2015.

The conference is sponsored by IpsosWhoHAA, ICAEW, MBGZalora, GRADMalaysiaCareerBuilder and Juice Works.

About UNMC Careers Fair


The careers fair is held annually in March with over 1,000 attendees that comprises students and graduates. It takes place at UNMC's Great Hall and presents a chance for local, national and international organisations to attract our students from diverse disciplines and highlight the graduate and internship schemes on offer.
