International Relations and Communication Studies Careers day

SMLC and PHIR co-organised a sector focused Careers Day for both the schools’ students on 28 October 2015 at the University’s Great Hall. Hosted by UNMC Careers Advisory Services, the two-hour Careers Day event is an opportunity for students to have direct contact and networking opportunity with industry professionals. It is also aimed at educating the student body about industry opportunities and understanding what it takes to make it into the working world after graduation.

It was both the schools’ first and most ambitious careers event to date, with seven speakers from various industries, such as research, education and foreign government, media, performing arts and NGOs were invited. The theme for the event was “International Relations & Communication Careers Day – Get your P.D.A. (Plan your Priority, Discover your Dream Job, Achieve Your Ambition) in different sectors. The event sees an audience of 140 students from across the University faculties.
