The High Achievers Scholarship is an automatic scholarship for Foundation and Undergraduate programmes of study. Students who meet the criteria below will automatically be awarded the scholarship, whereby they will only have to pay 75% of their tuition fees. It is open to both Malaysian and Non-Malaysian students.
Scholarship Information
Foundation Programme:
A scholarship equivalent to 25% of the tuition fee will be automatically awarded to all candidates who have at least 7As at SPM/GCSE.
This scholarship will continue onto a student's undergraduate programme provided an average mark of at least 65% is maintained throughout the Foundation Programme. Loss of scholarship due to poor examination performance cannot be regained.
Applicants who did not meet the criteria for the Foundation Year High Achievers Scholarship, but have successfully completed The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus Foundation Year Programme with an average mark 75% are entitled to the High Achievers scholarship if they continue their studies to undergraduate level. Loss of scholarship due to poor examination performance cannot be regained.
New Malaysian SPM High Achievers Scholarship for 2008 Foundation Year Programmes:
In addition to the scholarship equivalent to 25% of the tuition fees for Malaysian SPM candidates that obtain 7As at SPM we will be awarding the following scholarships for candidates who:
- successfully obtain 9As at SPM with an additional 5% - total 30% discount
- successfully obtain 11As and above at SPM with an additional 10% - total 35% discount
This additional scholarship is only available to Malaysian SPM applicants who apply for any of the three semester Foundation Year programmes. If applicants continue their studies and have maintained an average mark of 65% throughout the Foundation Year Programmes they will be eligible for the automatic 25% High Achievers Scholarship during their undergraduate programme.
Undergraduate Programmes:
A scholarship equivalent to 25% of the tuition fee will be automatically awarded to students satisfying the criteria outlined below for each School. Once awarded the scholarship will continue for each year of the student's undergraduate programme provided an average mark of 60% (upper second class degree) is achieved in each year's examinations. Loss of scholarship due to poor examination performance cannot be regained.
Students who satisfy the criteria below but are unable to afford the fees may be eligible for enhanced scholarships. Enhanced scholarships are awarded on an individual basis at the discretion of the University.
Nottingham University Business School:
High Achievers Scholarships are only available to those students entering the first year of the degree programme.
For A-level entrants, students with 2As and 1B will be eligible.
For STPM entrants, students with 2As and 1B+ will be eligible.
For UEC entrants, students with 6As and 1B will be eligible .
School of Computer Science:
For A-level entrants, students with 2As and 1B, including Mathematics, will be eligible.
For STPM entrants, students with 2As and 1B, including Mathematics, will be eligible.
For UEC entrants, students with 6As and 1B, including Mathematics, will be eligible .
For students applying for Advanced Standing, an average of Distinction with no element below Credit (must include Mathematics) will be eligible.
Departments of Engineering:
High Achievers Scholarships are only available to those students entering the first year of the degree programme.
For A-level entrants, students with 2As and 1B, to include Mathematics & Physics (Mathematics & Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) will be eligible.
For STPM entrants, students with 2As and 1B+, to include Mathematics & Physics (Mathematics & Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) will be eligible.
For UEC entrants, students with 6As and 1B, to include Mathematics & Physics (Mathematics & Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) will be eligible.
School of Biosciences:
For A-level entrants, students with 2As and 1B, of which Chemistry or Biology must be an A, will be eligible.
For STPM entrants, students with 2As and 1B+, of which Chemistry or Biology must be an A, will be eligible.
For UEC entrants, students with 6As and 1B, of which Chemistry or Biology must be an A, will be eligible.
Recipients of High Achievers Scholarship at undergraduate programmes are also eligible for PTPTN loan. Fee Payment For High Achievers Scholarship Recipients
Please Note:
Each semester consist of 16 weeks. There are 2 semesters in a year.
PTPTN loans are only available for undergraduate studies.
The University will assist students in applying to PTPTN.
Approval for PTPTN loans is subject to PTPTN terms and conditions.
