Current Research

My research is focused on improving productivity, quality and value of food crops especially of minor and underutilized species. I have a strong interest in building sustainable and resilient food systems and in developing climate resilient and nutritious crops as well as sustainable crop production practices. I am currently researching bambara groundnut, winged bean, amaranth and oil palm, working closely with partners in Africa, Asia and Europe. We also research food environments in transitioning economies and how these could be shaped to deliver sustainable and healthy diets.
