Centre for Islamic Business and Finance Research

The Centre for Islamic Business and Finance Research (CIBFR) is a cutting-edge research centre focusing on Islamic business and finance.

CIBFR aims to

  • produce world-class research by attracting national and international Islamic financial institutions and Halal product firms to collaborate in research initiatives at CIBFR
  • provide analysis on Islamic finance performance issues, risk management practices and development of new products and services for the Islamic financial institutions
  • facilitate multidisciplinary research that focuses on understanding consumption behavior of Muslim societies in general and the impact of cultural differences that distinguish one Muslim society from another
  • facilitate cutting-edge research that summarizes and synthesizes the implication of Halal branding on its intended and unintended segment
  • advance the theory of Islamic economics and its role in Islamic business and finance
