NSE academic invited as a Foreign Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University

Saumik-Paul

Dr Saumik Paul was a Foreign Visiting Researcher at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University, Japan from 7 to 28 January 2015. During his stay in Tokyo, he gave a research seminar on Growth Incidence and the Distribution of Economic Welfare at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University on 21 January 2015. He also presented a paper, titled Export ban pass-through on retail and wholesale prices: A case study of maize markets in Kenya and Tanzania ( a joint work with Andrew Dabalen and Rasyad Parinduri), at the Hayami Conference at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) on 11 January 2015. 

Dr Paul, Associate Professor and Deputy Head of School of NSE Malaysia. His areas of expertise are development, political economy and labour economics. His work has been published in, among others, World Development, Journal of Developing Studies and Journal of African Economies.
