It is a fortnightly event where ALL students and lecturers come together after reading a presenter-selected research paper and discuss in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment. The name alternative springs from the aim, which is exactly to exchange knowledge about research that is not necessarily within our own area of expertise. She is a citizen of Finland and has been working in the education sector for almost 30 years. Aija worked as a Senior Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Finland, where her primary duties consisted of producing information for the political decision making, planning and implementing the development measures set by Government, and representing Finland in international working groups and cooperation forums.
