Biography

Marwan Nafea, PhD, MEng, BEng (Hons), AFHEA, GradEng, GradIEM, GradTech, MIET, MIEEE, PMIFERP, MIAENG, MICSES

Dr. Marwan Nafea received his BEng (Hons.) degree in Electronic Engineering (Computer Engineering) from Sebha University, Brak, Libya, in 2010, and MEng degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics & Automatic Control) and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Malaysia, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. He served as a Researcher and Software Developer in the Faculty of Biosciences and Medical Engineering, University Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Malaysia from July 2017 to October 2018. He also served as a Researcher in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University Teknologi Malaysia, Skudai, Malaysia from May to December 2018. Dr. Marwan is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia, Selangor, Malaysia. He currently serves as a Review Editor on the Editorial Board of Micro- and Nanoelectromechanical Systems, Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, and as an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Advances in Applied Sciences, the International Journal of Reconfigurable and Embedded Systems, and the International Journal of Applied Power Engineering. He also served as an editor of 1 book on sensors and as an invited reviewer for several journals and conferences. His research interests are in the areas of MEMS and micro/nanofabrication technologies, including wireless microfluidic devices and microactuators, with a partial emphasis on the fields of PSO, optimal control, and EEG-controlled systems for home automation.
