Dr Cheng Xinwei is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineer, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC). She received her Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNMC in year 2011. In the same year, she received the Dean's Scholarship from UNMC to pursue her PhD. For her PhD research, she has successfully analysed the effects of unsaturation levels on the in-cylinder behaviours of ignition, combustion, soot formation/oxidation and other engine-out emissions for different biodiesel feedstocks, using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). She has also formulated generic models of reduced chemical kinetics and thermo-physical properties, which are pertinent to the entire in-cylinder combustion phenomena, to further enhance the accuracy of the CFD results. Her research interests include alternative fuels, chemical kinetics, CFD and internal combustion engines.
