Professor Paul Hegarty was giving a talk on ‘French Contemporary Arts as Global Art: or What’s French about French Art Today’. Prof Hegarty is a professor of French and Francophone Studies and the Head of the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures (UK Campus).
He is also a leading authority on contemporary visual culture and sound studies, and has written books on video art, noise, experimental rock music, 1960s art and French theorists such as Georges Bataille and Jean Baudrillard.
