Dr Soma Mitra is an Associate Professor at the School of Biosciences of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Nottingham Malaysia.

As part of her administrative portfolio Dr Mitra holds the position of The Chair of the Science and Engineering Research Ethics Committee, University of Nottingham Malaysia. Currently she also serves the school of Biosciences as the Director of Postgraduate Studies.

Prior to joining the University of Nottingham Malaysia in 2012, Dr Soma Mitra was a Senior Lecturer at the London Metropolitan University, London, UK. Dr Mitra served London Metropolitan University, UK for five years.
