After completing her Honours and Masters in English, Farzana grew a passion for teaching languages. She completed a Masters in TESOL from the UK and later completed other Cambridge teaching qualifications such as CELTA, CELTYL and DELTA.

At University of Nottingham Malaysia, Farzana mainly teaches various modules at the Foundation level and also functions as the Disability Liaison Officer. Before becoming a faculty member at CELFE, she worked at British Council Bangladesh and Kuala Lumpur for about 9 years as an ESL instructor and taught a variety of courses such as General English, Business English, Young Learners, Professional English, IELTS and other exam preparation courses.
