High Achievers' Scholarship
The High Achievers’ Scholarship (HAS) is a merit scholarship awarded at the discretion of the University to deserving and academically excellent students in recognition of their achievements. HAS is applicable for studies at University of Nottingham Malaysia only and is made available on an automatic basis to any academically qualified applicants applying for entry onto the Foundation and Undergraduate programmes at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Applicants do not need to apply for this award.
The University of Nottingham Malaysia shall have the absolute discretion in determining the recipient of the HAS Award based on amongst others their own equivalencies, average percentage, the individual grades and its calculation, and specific criteria (if or as applicable).
Foundation studies
The HAS is awarded for the whole duration of the programme. Students may subsequently be eligible at the point of progression for the Dean's Excellence Scholarship (DES).
A scholarship equivalent to 25%, 20% and 15% reduction of the tuition fee is automatically awarded to students who have obtained the following results in the various examinations:
General Criteria
Grades obtained in religion, general studies physical education and subjects which are not taken into consideration for a programme are generally excluded.

Undergraduate programmes
The HAS is awarded for only one academic year and is not applicable for the progressing academic year. Students may subsequently be eligible at the point of progression for the Dean's Excellence Scholarship (DES).
A scholarship equivalent to 25%, 20% and 15% reduction of the tuition fee is automatically awarded to students who have obtained the following results in various examinations:
General criteria
Grades obtained in religion, general studies, physical education and subjects which are not taken into consideration for a programme are generally excluded.
Where a programme requires specific-subject grade equivalent to A level, you will be asked to achieve a particular grade at a similar level.
Grade A- or B-* will not be considered when grade A or *B is required as part of the criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- The recipient of the award shall fulfil and adhere to all terms and conditions imposed by the University of Nottingham Malaysia. The University of Nottingham Malaysia reserves the right to amend its Scholarship(s) provision and/or terms and conditions without notice.
- The applicant and/or student shall provide all required results and proof of documents as requested by University of Nottingham Malaysia and all decisions made by University of Nottingham Malaysia are final and no appeal shall be entertained.
FAQ
What criteria are used to evaluate the High Achiever's Scholarship application?
The HAS is based on an individual student’s academic merit or results. The requirements differs between foundation and undergraduate courses.
Is the High Achiever’s Scholarship available to both Malaysian and international students?
Yes, this scholarship is available for all students, regardless of their nationality.
Do I have to apply for HAS or is it automatically awarded?
This merit scholarship is automatically awarded. Students who obtain the necessary top grades will receive a 25%, 20% or 15% reduction in their tuition fees.
Is the High Achiever’s Scholarship renewable?
No, the HAS is awarded for only one academic year and will not be applicable for the following academic year. However, students may be eligible for the
Dean’s Excellence Scholarship.
Are there any restrictions on how the High Achiever’s Scholarship funds can be used?
Because this merit scholarship is an automatic reduction in tuition fees, the funds cannot be used for any other purpose.
Is a High Achiever’s Scholarship available for the entire duration of the degree?
For foundation courses, the HAS is available for the entire duration of the programme. However, for undergraduate courses, the scholarship will only be available for one academic year.
