Biosciences PhD student wins Endowed Postgraduate Prize

Mr. Ibrahim Babangida Abubakar, a PhD student from the School of Biosciences, has received The University Endowed Postgraduate Prize 2014/2015 in recognition of the progress he has made with research and contribution to the postgraduate community. The prize included a cheque amounting RM750 along with the certificate and had been presented to him at the Tri-Campus Presentation Event on 13th May 2015.

Under the supervision of Professor Dr Sandy Loh, Ibrahim is now at his third year of study and he will continue to work towards completion on finding the alternative combinatorial treatment regimen between vitamin E isomers and bioactive compounds against cancers.

“Ibrahim is a great ‘asset’ for the research team with a good track record of high impact publications and engaging international collaboration. His contributions to the School of Biosciences in supervising final year undergraduate project students and serving as Joint President of the Postgraduate Student Committee are highly significant.” A statement quoted by his supervisor during the presentation event.
