University of Nottingham Academic named FT Professor of the Month

Dr Nafis Alam, associate professor at The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) and Centre Director of Islamic Business and Finance Research (CIBFR) has been recognised as “Professor of the Month” by the Financial Times (FT)  for May 2014.

The FT grants the title ‘Professor of the Month’ to showcase academics who are experts in a specific field of research and to highlight the contribution that their work makes to both the academic and business communities.

“I am humbled to be showcased by FT as professor of the month. It's a privilege to share the FT business and education section with the likes of professor from top business schools such as MIT Sloan, & Yale” said Dr. Nafis Alam.

“We are indeed proud of Nafis’ achievement. Its great to see his strong business acumen and academic prowess, in the area of Islamic finance recognised by the international business press” said Professor Christine Ennew, CEO and Provost of UNMC.

“Academics at UNMC are proud recipients of many international and Malaysian awards in their specific fields and they are also competitive recipients of Nottingham’s awards such as the Lord Dearing Award, demonstrating their internationally-recognised credentials in research and in teaching and learning” Professor Ennew added.
