Description

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus is pleased to invite you to an event brought to you by Global Business Services (GBS) academia-industry collaboration, Nottingham Advantage Award (NAA) under the School of Education.

Global Business Services
Global Business Services (GBS) is a term used to describe firms involved in outsourcing and shared services activities. Despite its presence for over 15 years in Malaysia, there is still very little awareness about the GBS concept and the career paths this industry offers. In general, GBS firms leverage global opportunities and technologies by centralising work, governance and business practices into a single location designed to capture additional value for scalability, lower costs, and optimised processes. GBS trends cut across IT, HR, accounting, finance, procurement, legal, engineering, research and development, big data analytics and many more, making it one of the most significant trends in today’s business world.

In Malaysia, GBS is a focus area in the country’s Economic Transformation Plan and the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) towards a high-income, knowledge-based economy by 2020. This GBS dialogue is not to be missed especially if you are a final year student!

Come and meet our GBS industry experts for insights and find out more about GBS academia-industry collaboration and how GBS can impact you as a graduate.
