He is Professor at the School of International Studies (SOIS), College of Law, Government and International Studies (COLGIS), Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is the lead author of recently published book entitled The Prospect of Electoral Reforms in Malaysia (UUM Press, 2022). Sabahan anthropologist Dr Vilashini Somiah is a senior lecturer at the Gender Studies Programme at the University of Malaya, she maintains a keen interest for underrepresented narratives of women, migrants and Bornean living in the interiors. She co-edited “Sabah From the Ground: The 2020 Elections and the Politics of Survival" (SIRD/ISEAS, 2021) and authored “Irregular Migrants and the Sea at the Borders of Sabah, Malaysia: Pelagic Alliance” (Palgrave MacMillan, 2022). Dr Bridget Welsh is an independent scholar and political analyst currently based in Kuala Lumpur. She is an Honorary Research Associate with the University of Nottingham Asia Research Institute Malaysia (UoNARI-M). A seasoned Malaysian election analyst, she has written numerous books and articles on voting behavior and elections in Malaysia. She is a columnist for Between the Lines, Malaysiakini, commentator on regional politics and a consultant assessing political risk in the region.
