Guest Lecture: Implementation of AI in the Industry

The guest lecture was held from 11am-1pm on the 24^th April 2025 at F1A03 by Mr. Ugenteraan Manogaran, who is currently the Senior Computer Vision Engineer at Evlos (https://www.evlos.ai/), building vision foundation model for clients. The guest lecture explored the speaker’s journey in applying AI technologies to various industries. He discussed some of his most notable projects, including AI systems built for a U.S.-based medical company, a self-driving car prototype, and a visual inspection systems company. He outlined the challenges of applying AI in different contexts and how to overcome them. The speaker also shared the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to secure higher-quality jobs and freelance opportunities.

There are about 30 computer science students attending the guest lecture. In the guest lecture. One of the highlights of the guest lecture is the question-and-answer session where Mr. Ugenteraan shared with one of the participants on how to deal with uncertainties in industry project on matters such as the lack of data, the incomplete project requirements and so on. Students gain first hand insight into the challenges of carrying out real world AI projects.
