Natasha Zulaikha Binti Zahirudin

About Natasha

Natasha completed both her Foundation in Science and her Degree in Environmental Science at University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM). After acquiring a BSc in Environmental Science, she was part of the Malayan Tiger Conservation scene for 2 years.  She is currently pursuing postgraduate research at UNM beginning in 2021.

 

Career

For her PhD thesis Natasha embarked on a 3-year programme with the Management and Ecology of Malaysian Elephants (MEME) project. For her research, she is very much interested in human-elephant conflict mitigation in Peninsular Malaysia. The study aims to explore the use of psychology and behavioural economics tools alongside ecological approaches to manage human-elephant conflict and help shift the community’s mindset towards tolerance and coexistence.
