Biography
Natrah Noor is an academic at the School of Humanities, University of Nottingham Malaysia. She holds a PhD with a specialization in Critical Discourse Studies. Her research focuses on the portrayals and representations of Muslim women and marginalized communities, particularly within the context of global and local politics of Islam and gender. Her research primarily aims to reveal how language constructs and reinforces colonial, orientalist, and patriarchal narratives that continue to shape the perceptions and treatment of Muslim women and marginalized communities today.
Prior to joining UNM, Natrah held academic positions at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia (KAU), the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
