Housekeeper; Accommodation Office

We are seeking suitable candidates to apply for the Housekeeper position at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Damp-dusts furniture, light fixtures, windowsills, etc.
  • Empties trash containers daily.
  • Wet-mops floors, wipe in assigned residents’ rooms and clean bathrooms daily
  • Damp-mops all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily.
  • Washes basins, mirrors, toilet bowls and showers upon resident request
  • Checks all vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
  • Reports any needed repairs immediately to Team Leader Housekeeper and lodge report to maintenance portal, Maintain X (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).
  • To support the Accommodation team for any accommodation event.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the housekeeper store.
  • Supports sustainability initiatives by segregating trash upon disposal.
  • To execute and attend any ad-hoc task or other duties assigned by immediate superior and Head of Department.
  • Coordinates and supervises temporary cleaning staff when necessary.
  • Provides guidance and training to new housekeeping staff.
  • Prepares basic housekeeping reports (e.g. task checklists, inventory use, issue logs).
  • Assists in quality control checks for accommodation readiness during peak move-in/out periods.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum SPM or equivalent or similar with at least 1 year of related working experience
  • Knowledge of cleaning process
  • Good communication skills and basic computer literate knowledge in MS Office Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Good Health - ability to sit, stand, walk or kneel for a long period of time. Strong hand eye coordination.
  • Adhere to all safety, security and company procedures and policies.
  • Able to work on standby/after office hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required
