The University of Nottingham Malaysia is seeking a dynamic HR professional to join our team as Human Resource Business Partner. This is an opportunity to play a key role in driving the HR initiatives with its overall business objectives. The role works closely with managers and employees to provide effective HR support, enhance employee engagement, promote a positive workplace culture, and support organisational development and change initiatives. The position requires a deep understanding of HR best practices, strong business acumen, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to drive change within the organisation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • HR Initiatives: Partner with Heads of Department/School and managers to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with organisational and faculty objectives, using HR data and insights to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Employee Relations, Engagement & Compliance: Act as a trusted HR advisor to managers and employees on employee relations, performance and workplace matters, providing guidance on appropriate resolutions and supporting initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, retention and compliance.
  • Talent Acquisition, Development & Management: Partner with managers and relevant HR teams to support talent acquisition, development and management activities, including recruitment, development planning, training, coaching and succession planning.
  • Performance Management: Advise and coach managers on the effective implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, feedback and performance improvement, in line with HR policies and relevant requirements.
  • Change Management & Organisational Development: Partner with managers to support and implement organisational change and development initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness, team performance, talent management and career development.
  • HR Programme Development & Implementation: Lead the implementation of assigned HR programmes, establishing appropriate measures to evaluate effectiveness and using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • HR Data Management: Analyse and provide insights to support management decision-making, identify trends and inform improvements in HR and employee-related practices.
  • HR Process Improvement & Execution: Identify and implement opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency, collaborating with HR teams and relevant stakeholders to leverage technology and enhance service delivery.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Understanding of human behaviour in the workplace, group dynamics, and organisational culture.
  • 5-8 years of working in human resources, talent management/acquisition, or organisational development as well as keeping abreast with best practices is beneficial.
  • Strong skills in handling employee relations issues, resolving conflicts, and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for interacting with employees at all levels and conveying HR policies and initiatives effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Strong Knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure HR practices align with legal requirements.
