Dr Show Pau Loke becomes the first Malaysian to win the DaSilva Award
Description
Dr Show Pau Loke, an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, was recently awarded the prestigious DaSilva Award 2018 from the Society of Biotechnology, Japan for his research titled Converting wastewater to bioenergy and bio-products using microalgae technology. Dr Show is the first Malaysian to have been bestowed this honour.

Chan Bi Xuan, first year Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) Malaysia student of University of Nottingham Malaysia has won the Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen Award Essay Writing Competition titled: How Best to Promote Malaysia's National Interest in the Changing Global Environment. This is the first time a student from the University of Nottingham has won this competition, which has been held annually since 2014.

The University of Nottingham Malaysia conferred honorary degrees to four outstanding individuals at the University Summer Graduation Ceremony from 21 to 23 July. The awards are to recognise outstanding contribution, success and distinction. The recipients this year are Dato' Dr Afifi al-Akiti, Dato' Beh Chun Chuan, Dato' Hooi Lai Lin and Dato' Gan Ah Tee.
