The University of Nottingham recently celebrated the graduation of 27 students on its Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme at a commencement dinner in Singapore on 13 January 2017.

Nottingham University Business School has campuses in the UK, China and Malaysia, with the MBA programme offered in the UK, Malaysia, and at the University’s overseas partner institution in Singapore, PSB Academy.

This year, the Nottingham MBA programme in Singapore saw 19 students graduating with an MBA and eight students receiving an MBA in Finance.

MBA Finance graduate Chan Fang Yih, who topped his MBA cohort this year, says, "Investment in education has equipped us with the right tools and knowledge and more importantly, holistic perspectives in business management, which will help one become a more nimble team leader and adaptable problem-solver to face future challenges." Mr Chan looks forward to new opportunities in the finance arena after having accumulated years of experience in the engineering industry.

The MBA Graduation Celebration, held at the Marina Mandarin Singapore, was attended by The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) CEO and Provost Professor Graham Kendall, UNMC Vice-Provost for Teaching & Learning Professor Ong Fon Sim, UNMC Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Dean Professor Lee Chew Ging, Nottingham University Business School Malaysia Acting Dean Dr Seow Hsin Vonn, MBA Programme (Singapore) Director Dr Lau Chee Kwong, PSB Academy Singapore Executive Director Mr Viva Sinniah, PSB Academy Acting CEO Derrick Chang, and PSB Academy School of Postgraduate Studies at PSB Academy Head Dr Tan Boon Leing.

"Today marks a most significant point in a major chapter of our graduates' lives, and we are all very proud of their achievements. The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide rated us last year as ‘The University of the Year for Graduate Employment’ – and that is testament to the reputation and calibre of our graduates from across the world. We hope that through their achievements, and as their careers further develop, that they will become effective business leaders that make a positive difference to the global community," Professor Graham Kendall said at the graduation celebration.

"PSB Academy remains a proud partner of The University of Nottingham and we look forward to deepening our partnership, to revolutionise the way management education is conducted, together, and take the Nottingham experience into the future in our new facility at Marina Square which will be fully open by May 2017," says Dr Tan Boon Leing.
