Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) Malaysia has entered into a partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) to promote knowledge and understanding of financial markets and institutions amongst students at the University of Nottingham Malaysia.

The partnership recognises NUBS Malaysia as a CISI Accredited Training Provider, and will provide University of Nottingham Malaysia students the opportunity to enrol on a module entitled ‘Introduction to Securities and Investment’. Launched on 22 May 2018, the module is open to the University’s undergraduate students who are enrolled on any course in any School, and is part of the Nottingham Advantage Award (NAA), the University of Nottingham’s employability award that provides students the chance to be involved in extra-curricular and co-curricular modules designed to enhance employability, personal and professional development.

Students who complete the module may then opt to take the CISI’s ‘International Introduction to Securities and Investment’ examination, which is a CISI Foundation Level qualification that contributes towards the CISI Level 3 Certificate in International Introduction to Securities and Investment.

“We are proud to be associated with the CISI, a leading professional body in the field of securities, investment and wealth and financial planning,” said Professor Lee Chew Ging, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

“The ‘Introduction to Securities and Investment’ module will offer an excellent opportunity for students from all Schools to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry and the management of financial assets, and at the same allowing them to study for a CISI examination.”

“The CISI’s International Introduction to Securities and Investment provides an excellent opportunity for students from all Schools to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry and the management of financial assets. Graduating with an internationally recognised vocational qualification will be a competitive advantage for the students when seeking employment,” said Simon Culhane, Chief Executive of the CISI.
