The University of Nottingham Malaysia has  appointed Diana Chee as its Chief Marketing Officer, a role she assumed on 1 April 2018.

As the head of marketing at the University, she will spearhead the teams handling student recruitment and supporting the Corporate Marketing and International Office departments.

According to CEO and Provost Professor Graham Kendall: “I am delighted to have Diana in this new position, as well as joining our Management Board. Diana went through a robust selection process that included two interviews, a presentation and discussions with UK-based colleagues. It is testament to her that she was our preferred candidate against such a strong field for a position that was advertised both internally and externally.”

“One of her primary objectives will be to ensure that we meet the challenging student recruitment targets that we have set. She will also develop and implement a strategy to recruit students and support them as they engage and study with us. As a member of our Management Board, she will also play an integral role in the strategy and management of the entire campus,” Professor Kendall said.

Diana has been a valued colleague during my seven years at our Malaysia Campus and I am very much looking forward to working with her over the coming months and years.”

Prior to her appointment, Chee was the head of Corporate Marketing, a department managing the public relations, communications, branding, traditional and digital marketing for the University. She had been in this position since January 2014.

She joined the University in 2006 as the head of international marketing, heading the team, which handled student recruitment from international markets. Having 16 years’ experience in the field of marketing and recruitment in academia, she began her career in 2002 in Inti University College.

According to Chief Marketing Officer Diana Chee: “I am very excited for the opportunity to lead the teams and make the University of Nottingham Malaysia the University of choice for anyone with potential and a pioneering spirit.”

An alumna of the University, Chee holds a master’s degree in international business management and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hertfordshire.
