The Department of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (M3) at the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) recently organised an alumni reunion event to celebrate its 15th anniversary on 3 August 2019 in the Great Hall.
“This year is a significant milestone for the Department as it celebrates 15 years of excellence at the Malaysia Campus, marked by bold transformation in our delivery of high-quality education,” said Professor Ng Hoon Kiat, Head of Department of M3.
Alumni and guest travelled from far and near to attend the event. It was also an occasion for the alumni to rekindle their friendship, reminisce about older times with the academic staff, form new friendships and also experience firsthand the latest campus developments.
The fun-filled event began with an outstanding performance by the UNM Music Society, followed by lunch and a networking session. Thereafter, there was a group photo shoot, ice-breaking activities and alumni sharing session. The event also hosted a campus tour, which was the highlight of the day.
“I had so much fun during the event. It was like going back in time with many beautiful memories. I was also glad to see so many positive changes to the department and campus,” said Wahieda Bahtiar, an M3 alumna of 2011.
M3 was one of the earliest departments established at UNM. Currently, it has over 1,200 local and international alumni working in diverse professions worldwide.
