Payanthip students attends fun filled summer schools

50 students from Payanthip International School attended a summer school at University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) from 19 to 21 February 2019.

The students attended talks, lab tours, activities around the campus including FOSE – ‘Science and Engineering as a Gateway’ presentation, showcasing of the Hercules Robot Car and presentation on Tableting and DNA Extraction by the School of Pharmacy. Additionally, there was an overview of courses from the UNM’s Faculty of Arts and Social Science and Faculty of Science and Engineering and a welcome address by University of Nottingham Malaysia Provost and CEO Professor Graham Kendall.

“It was an absolute pleasure to have students and members of staff from Panyathip International School. It was great to show them what we do so that they are able to bring home real life experience of the University,” said University of Nottingham Malaysia Provost and CEO Professor Graham Kendall.

Accompanying the students were Panyanthip International School Managing Director John Gwyn Jones, Secondary School Principal Martyn Bone together with teachers and administrative staff.

Partnership with Payanthip International School

University of Nottingham Malaysia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Payanthip International School on at the World Education Forum in London on 23 January 2018. The signing was witnessed by Lao PDR Minister of Education and Sports Sengdeuane Lachanthaboun and UK Trade Envoy to Laos Rt Hon Ed Baizey.

In attendance at the signing event were Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education Director General Datin Paduka Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, British Council Malaysia Director Sarah Deverall and British High Commission Kuala Lumpur Head of Marketing and GREAT Campaign Alison Collingridge.

The partnership was signed to offer the University of Nottingham foundation programmes in Laos.
