tedx-article1

The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) will host its second TEDx event, to be held at UNM on Saturday, 15 February 2020. This student-led event is expected to attract about 100 students and is a follow up of the University’s first TEDx event, which was held in October 2018.

The theme for this year is “Change; The Only Constant” and will see nine talented speakers giving out advice and valuable lessons for those looking to kick-start a whole new venture.

The speakers are Ryan Liang, founder and designer of Shantommo; Dr Chua Sook Ning, founder of Mental Health Malaysia; Hariz Hazwan, medical doctor at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II; Leong Min Yang, a final year Mechanical Engineering student at University of Nottingham; Dinesh Jayabalan, model alumnus of the University of Nottingham; Dato’ Dr M. Shanmughalingam, best-selling Malaysian author; Freda Liu, producer and presenter at BFM 89.9; Samantha Siow, Head of Storytellers for Humans of Kuala Lumpur (HOKL); and Lee Jia Lok, Chairperson of Advisory Board of the International Council of Malaysian Scholars and Associates (ICMS).

“We are really proud of our students, who will have once again successfully organised the University’s TEDx event. It just goes to show how much talent we have within the university. I hope that those who attend the event will take back valuable lessons from our speakers and be inspired to pursue their goals,” said Provost and CEO of University of Nottingham Malaysia Professor Graham Kendall, who will be officiating the event.
