The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) is proud to announce that several of our academics have been recognised in the Stanford-Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List 2025, reaffirming our position as a hub of global research excellence and scholarly impact.

About the Stanford-Elsevier Top 2% List

Published annually by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier, this highly respected global ranking is derived from the science-wide author databases of standardised citation indicators using Scopus data updated to the end of 2024.

The methodology accounts for career-long achievement and single-year (2024) performance, using a composite citation index (c-score) that adjusts for:

  • Co-authorship and author order (first, last, single, etc.)

  • Self-citations

  • Discipline-specific variations across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields

This rigorous framework ensures that recognition reflects not just publication volume, but meaningful and lasting scientific influence.
