Semenyih, 19 June 2025 – The University of Nottingham has been ranked among the world’s top 100 universities in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, securing 97th place out of over 1,500 institutions globally. It also placed 17th among 90 UK universities featured in the ranking.
This achievement reinforces Nottingham’s reputation as a global leader in education, research, and graduate employability — and underscores the growing international standing of the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) as an education hub in the Asian region.
Professor Jane Norman, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, said: “We are proud to be ranked among the top 100 universities in the world, this is testament to the dedication and excellence of colleagues who provide world-class education, deliver outstanding research, and support our graduates to achieve their career ambitions.
The QS World University Rankings assess institutions using a range of indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty and student ratio, international outlook, research impact, and sustainability. Nottingham performed particularly well in employability and employer reputation, reaffirming its position as the UK’s top university for graduates entering highly skilled employment.
Locally in its Malaysia campus, nearly all UNM graduates secure employment or pursue postgraduate study within months of graduating, with many joining leading companies across diverse industries.
This global recognition reflects the strength of the university’s international research collaborations and its commitment to addressing global challenges through meaningful partnerships. Here in Malaysia, students benefit from a truly global education, delivered locally and closer to home. UNM graduates are highly sought after, often commanding starting salaries up to twice the national average - a testament to its industry links, academic rigour, and career-focused education.
The QS World University Rankings 2026 comes at a significant milestone for the University of Nottingham Malaysia, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. As the first overseas campus established by a UK university, UNM continues to play a vital role in delivering world-class education, impactful research, and industry-ready graduates in Malaysia and the Asian region.
