Biography

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from Taif University in 2017, after which I worked as a Medical Sales Representative with Eli Lilly and Marcom MMS, gaining experience in patient follow-up, pharmacovigilance reporting, and clinical drug interactions. I subsequently worked as a community pharmacist at Shams Pharmacy (2020-2022) and at Al Nahdi Pharmacy (2022-2023), where I was responsible for dispensing medicines, patient education, and promoting product awareness.

In 2022, I completed a Master's degree in Genetic Fingerprinting and Forensic Diagnostics at Taif University. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Pharmacology and Drug Discovery at the University of Nottingham, with a focus on breast cancer and lipid metabolism.

Research Summary

Project Title: Investigating the Role of α/β-Hydrolase Domain 12 (ABHD12) on Proliferation of Selected Breast Cancer Cell Lines

Supervisors:

Current research: Breast cancer remains the most prevalent malignancy among women worldwide, with dysregulated lipid metabolism recognised as a key hallmark of its progression. The lipid hydrolase ABHD12 regulates bioactive lipid signalling molecules that may influence tumour proliferation, immune evasion, and metastasis. This project aims to characterise ABHD12 enzymatic activity in selected breast cancer cell lines using activity-based protein profiling, and to evaluate the effects of a selective inhibitor on cell proliferation. The study will also explore potential off-target interactions and assess variability across different molecular subtypes of breast cancer. Ultimately, this research seeks to clarify the functional role of ABHD12 in tumour biology and its potential as a therapeutic target.
