Biography
I bring over 25 years of expertise spanning academia, construction project management, and sustainability initiatives. As the former Head of Civil Engineering at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (2014-2017), I successfully guided the department through rigorous dual accreditation processes with both the Joint Board of Moderators (UK) and Engineering Accreditation Council (Malaysia), establishing benchmarks for academic excellence.
Currently serving as the ESG Services Project Lead, I develop and implement strategies that integrate environmental, social, and governance considerations into infrastructure development and university operations.
My research focuses on sustainable construction practices, innovative project management methodologies, remote sensing technologies for infrastructure monitoring, and the application of generative AI in the built environment. This complements my extensive practical experience on major Malaysian infrastructure projects, including the Kuala Lumpur Monorail and PUTRA Light Rail Transit System, where I developed expertise in project planning and systems integration.
By bridging academic research with practical applications, I strive to transform the construction industry's approach to sustainability while enhancing the everyday experience of infrastructure users. My goal is to create resilient, user-centered built environments that serve communities effectively while minimizing environmental impact.

As an educator, I taught courses spanning all years in construction management. My courses integrate critical areas including project planning, concurrent project management, risk assessment, quality systems, and construction law. This structured approach ensures students develop both depth and breadth in their understanding as they apply these principles across progressive group design projects throughout their academic journey.
I use interactive simulation games in my teaching methodology, creating immersive learning environments where students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional judgment. These simulations place students in realistic scenarios that require real-time decision-making, resource allocation, and stakeholder management-skills essential for successful construction project delivery.
