Promoting science using microscopes

The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) hosted a training session for 17 primary school teachers on the proper use of microscopes, as a result of a project to set up Microscope Activity Kit loans by the Royal Microscopical Society, UK (RMS) in Malaysia.

UNMC Obesity Awareness Campaigns secures RM 46,500 international grant

Description
Fat, Fatter and Fattest! Obesity has become a worldwide epidemic affecting both adults and children alike. However, the awareness of this global issue in our community is still naïve, including youths and children. One of the innovative strategies to combat obesity is to seed young minds to live healthy right from the childhood and practice throughout life.

University of Nottingham academic rebuilds schools

In support of the nation-rebuilding efforts in Nepal following the recent devastating earthquakes, The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) has successfully raised RM22,900 to be channelled to Pioneer Foundation Nepal, a local NGO.

Academics plan to climb Himalayan peak in aid of preschoolers

Description
Academics from The University of Nottingham, Dr Ting Kang Nee, and Dr Yvonne Mbaki, will be trekking and climbing to the peak of Naya Kanga mountain (5846m) in Kathmandu, Nepal from 13-23 April, to raise funds to support pre-school education for children from the Penan community in Sarawak.
