Advanced masterclass on financial literacy

Financial literacy

An advanced masterclass on financial literacy was organised for the second time by the Alumni & Donor Relations Office following the success of the first masterclass, presented by MBA alumni Amelia Hong and Lim Lee Chin.

The event was a successful and interactive session, with participants informing that they had hugely benefitted from the personalized workshop. Every participant got the opportunity to have a review of their financial status by the financial coaches, and spend time in the workshop identifying their financial goals and setting new finance management practices. Participants were also presented with ‘Financial Snacks’, the book published by the alumni duo.

Amelia and Lee Chin told us that giving back to their alma mater gave them great pleasure and they’re looking forward to working closely with UNMC in the near future.

Nottingham graduation brings more members into the Nottingham alumni family

New members into Alumni community

We now have approximately 200 more graduates joining the global Nottingham alumni community. Graduates were invited to visit the Alumni & Donor Relations Office booth during graduation day and there were many memorable moments shared such as taking photographs, visiting the UNMC Alumni Facebook page, and sale of premium merchandise especially made for Nottingham alumni.

The recent graduates also updated their details at the booth to ensure that we can communicate with them about the benefits on offers as members of the alumni community.  They were given welcome packs and the alumni events calendar.

Currently, there are more than 20 alumni staff at UNMC and they have extensive experience in their fields of expertise. The event was an initiative taken to get to know our Nottingham alumni community better.

The event began with an introduction by Ms. Amaravathy, ADRO’s manager and followed by Professor Ennew’s speech. Those alumni who attended the event had a good time networking and sharing some of their special memories as alumni and staff of The University of Nottingham. They informed that they felt very special for being invited by ADRO for the high tea and said that they would be keen to participate in future alumni events.
