Biography

I am a UK registered pharmacist who gained a Master of Pharmacy with Honours (MPharm Hons) 1st class degree from The University of Nottingham in 2012. I then completed an industrial pre-registration year including 6 months in the formulation department at Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD) and 6 months in Guy's and St. Thomas' hospital. After successfully qualifying as a UK registered Pharmacist, I rejoined the University of Nottingham to undertake a PhD in the CDT for formulation sciences and targeted therapeutics, evaluating particle adhesion to 3D printed micron scale morphologies. In 2018 I went on to work in industry as a senior scientist in formulation sciences and a product development lead on oral paediatric projects in clinical development. I am now an Assistant Professor in Pharmaceutics at the University of Nottingham Malaysia. My research focuses on the development of novel dosage forms tailored to the needs of the patient. One of the main avenues of the research involves the 3D printing (additive manufacturing) of pharmaceuticals.

Teaching Summary

I give lectures and workshops in the integrated MPharm2012 course as well as the BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences. I am the module convenor for PHAR2013: Biopharmaceutics and co-convenor… read more

ORCID ID: 0000-0001-8621-2925

This research focuses on investigating and enhancing emerging dosage forms and methods to produce custom made dosage forms in order to tailor the medication to the patient. One of the main avenues of research involves the 3D printing (additive manufacturing) of pharmaceuticals, an area which is expected to play a major role in the future of the pharmaceutical sector. My particular interest is enhancing respiratory devices and formulations.

My research also evaluates optimising dosage forms to better suit specific sub-groups of the patient population, for instance developing paediatric formulations.
