Dr Mun Seng Kan graduated from the National University of Malaysia with his first degree in BSc (Hons) Biochemistry. He furthered his postgraduate studies in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and obtained the PhD from the University of Sheffield, UK in 1999. Prior to joining UNM in 2012, Dr Kan spent years lecturing in other universities.
Dr Kan teaches mostly the biochemistry and molecular biology to the student cohorts from the Biomedical Science and Pharmacy.
Dr Kan's research interests focus on the molecular gene controls, protein expressions and bioactive compounds, especially protein-based drugs, short peptides and immunopotentiators. He is currently… read more
Dr Kan's research interests focus on the molecular gene controls, protein expressions and bioactive compounds, especially protein-based drugs, short peptides and immunopotentiators. He is currently researching on fungal immunomodulatory proteins (FIPs) from edible mushrooms particularly for cancer research.
