Talk on TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving)

Mr Tan Eng Hoo, Senior Manager, Talent Division, Policy and Strategy Department, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) delivered a talk to MBA students on TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving), a problem solving, analysis and forecasting tool that is derived from the study of patterns of invention. Mr Tan spoke on the principles and applications of TRIZ on management problems in practice.

Speaker profile

Mr Tan Eng Hoo is the Senior Manager of Talent Development Division for Multimedia Development Corporation. His contributions focus on enhancing university curricula through an Industry Academia Collaboration initiative. Prior to his current assignment, he had served Intel Corporation for more than 20 years and has a broad scope of responsibilities from supply chain management to business management and marketing to product research and development.

He has proven records in leading multi-disciplined, cross-functional and cross-geographical teams. In addition, he has several years of international experience based in US and Europe with excellent understanding of cultural differences of employees and customers.

He has deep passion in developing people and leaders, and driving innovation culture and knowledge. Throughout the career at the global no. 1 semiconductor corporation, he raked in 8 key awards on quality, people and innovation initiatives. Eng Hoo is the founder and Vice President of the Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association (MyTRIZ). He has a BSc in Chemistry from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
