Employment Opportunity: Nottingham School of Economics (NSE), Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Nottingham Malaysia

We are seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply for Associate Professor/Professor position in the School of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the University of Nottingham Malaysia.  

Job Responsibilities:  

• Meeting the research targets of the School.  

• Preparing and delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Conduct classes and meet the School targets for teaching performance.  

• To lead and contribute to course and curriculum development and design, including course management, where appropriate  

• To drive, support and comply with the University’s teaching quality assurance standards and procedures.  

• To produce ongoing research suitable for dissemination to conferences, workshops and seminars (both national and international).  

• To perform leadership and administrative roles related to teaching and research, as determined by the Head of School.  

Job Requirements:  

• Qualifications / Education 

• • PhD degree in Economics, or highly related fields (Statistics, Finance etc) 

• Knowledge and Skills 

• • Good communication skills 
  • Demonstrate sustained achievement at an internationally recognised level of excellence in research linked to clear evidence of the impact of that research through the exchange of knowledge developed from it. 
  • Successful supervision of PhD students would also be expected. In addition to this, they will have extensive and high-level teaching experience, normally supported by a relevant PhD, PGCHE and at least Fellowship of Advance HE (formerly HEA). 

• Working Experience 

• • Extensive experience and national/international reputation as a scholar/researcher. 
  • Sustained track record of publications in leading Economics journals. Experience of leading research projects is essential. 
  • Substantial international reputation for the development of research 
  • Excellence and evidence of teaching and learning excellence within the discipline. 
  • Leadership in the professional development of others via a demonstrable record of supporting/mentoring junior staff and peer support, including for early career staff. 
  • Evidence of participating in continuous professional development. 
  • Evidence of active membership of teams responsible for delivering research and/or innovation, including mentorship of more junior collaborators. 
  • Individual or joint leadership of significant collaborative research activities involving multiple disciplines/teams/institutions/team science. 
  • Leadership in organisation of prestigious international research conferences and events. 
  • Member of an editorial board and Reviewer for national and international research bodies. 
  • Working with inter-disciplinary teams is highly desirable.
