Funding-Opportunities

UNM Graduate School offers a range of funding opportunities to support researcher development of our research community (e.g. postgraduate research students and early career researchers). These financial awards are designed to enable you to access international opportunities as well as increase your researcher mobility and profile.

International Research Collaboration Award

The aim of this award is to help the award holder(s) to establish a new contact or strengthen an existing research collaboraton with an international partner. Additionally, the award holder(s) will have the opportunity to gain new skills or competencies commensurate with being a successful global researcher as well as deepen their understanding of research in an international arena.

This award is eligible to postgraduate research students who have passed their first year annual review as well as early career researchers.


Career Development Fund

The aim of this award is to complement the existing training and development opportunities currently being offered via Graduate School's Researcher Development Programme as well as within Departments/Schools/Faculty. Successful recipient of this award will have to develop and deliver a learning activity that spans across different disciplines (i.e. is interdisciplinary) and engages with postgraduate research students and early career researchers from different Departments/Schools (and Faculties).

This award is eligible to postgraduate research students who have passed their first year annual review as well as early career researchers.


Universitas 21 (U21) Early Career Researchers Workshop

The Universitas 21 (U21) Early Career Researchers Workshop is an unique series of workshops held annually, committed to enhancing international networking and encouraging collaborative research for those in the early stages of their research careers. Each workshop's aim is to encourage international networking, address career developmental topics such as grantsmanship, journal editing and innovation as well as knowledge exchange.

This award is eligible to early career researchers.
